Happy Birthday Savannah!!

For her birthday, we went to the see the movie "Hop". So Phil and I braved the movies with a ton of little kids. Thanks to Christy, Sharyn and Sasha for opting to stay so that we had a few more adults to manage. The movie was cute, but Phil and I really enjoyed the giggles that came from behind us. Innocent children laughing . . . how cute is that?
I am not a crafty person, in any sort of form. But I have to admit, the cupcakes turned out super cute! OK, mark it up in the big book of mom that I did 1 good thing for Savannah.

Savannah's "toofleth" smile!

We then took the girls to Texas Roadhouse for the Birthday dinner.
Savannah wanted to ride the saddle!

Savannah Cont. . .

I can not believe that Savannah is seven! OK, well, I can believe it, but I don't want to. I found out I was pregnant while in Canada. I was there with my mom while the boys were in Alaska fishing. I was an emotional wreck that week and my mom told me that something had to be wrong with me. I was too emotionally whacked. So I confirmed it. Of course I couldn't keep it secret so I told my mom and Auntie Ardell and Lori-Lynn and L.A. and Gram. But they were all sworn to secrecy. I wanted to tell Phil when we got home. Well when the secret came out, we found out that Rob and Sasha were pregnant and so was Christy and Drew (and if my memory serves me correctly, Andrew & Camille found out they were pregnant too, but then had a miscarriage, but were pregnant a few months later, because Adelaide is only 5 or 6 months younger). Obviously something was in the water or the coke or whatever we were all drinking.
I was so excited to pregnant, and pregnant with another girl, since the two are 19 months apart. I thought what a great thing to have a sister so close in age. OK, so little did I know that this would be the death of me. I mean, really, I am the only girl. How would I know? I always envied my friends who could share their clothes and shoes with their sisters. The secrets that they could share with their sisters. The advice that they would get. I always dreamed of having that. Well no one told me that there were lots of in between moments (and I mean a lot) that would cause tears and drama and so much more. And I know, I know, we haven't even hit the pre-teen years.
Savannah is such a tease. She gets this from her dad. And she does it so well. She even has the evil laugh to go with it. She teases her sisters (both older and younger). She teases the dogs (both big and small). She teases the cat. And most of all, she teases Mom and Dad. Savannah is such a social butterfly. She loves to flirt with ALL the boys. In fact, when I asked who she wanted to invite to her birthday party, she named 3 or 4 boys first. She wants to be just like her older sister - anything that Sierra does, Savannah wants to do it too. Savannah is a great swimmer and is a beautiful dancer and gymnast. She wants to start soccer as well, so she can be just like Sierra.
She lost her 2nd top tooth last week, and so she is "toofleth" on the top. Because of this, she thinks she has to drink everything through a straw. Well give it a few more weeks and she will be missing 4 more teeth (we are in the process of beginning her orthodontic procedure-so if anyone feels the need to donate to a good cause this year, we would gladly take donations in behalf of Savannah's smile).

Twitterpated

So Sydney had this HUGE crush on a boy at preschool. Every day, when I would ask if she wanted to wear a certain outfit, she would make comments like "well will Logan like it?" "Oh, Logan doesn't like those shoes." "Is my hair cute today?" "Is my lip gloss still on?" "I love him and he loves me." I mean, really, she was only three. Then came the heart break. Logan moved and Sydney was crushed. I told her there would be other boys - lots of other boys. But of course, she just couldn't handle it.
Well Saturday night, Logan was replaced. While playing games with friends, the kids got together and Sydney found a new friend. Kolin Chambers is the new item. They were in Sunbeams for a few months together before they split the class, but I guess with all the competition at church, Sydney didn't want to make her move. The story changes when she gets one on one time with someone. They were so cute together! I have found peace of mind now that her broken heart is mended.
Here's to Toddler Twitterpation!

All Dressed In White

Sierra & Dad
Dallin & Andrew
Lexi & Kevin
Jade & Poppa

(Insert Photo Here)
Elise & Jared

So Jade was just baptized, and with that, we have had 5 baptisms in the past year. Lexi on the Francis' side, and Dallin, Elise, and Jade on the Weeks' side. (And for those of you who did the math, that is only 4 - the 5th would be our dear Sierra - but if I had listed her on the Francis' side, she would say that her name was Weeks, if I had listed her on the Weeks' side, then I am throwing my family to the wind - and if I listed her on both, then math still wouldn't add up). What a precious time for these children. And the truth of the matter is, right now, their minds take in so much, I think that Sierra teaches us daily about something new she has discovered and she is still working on learning other things, i.e. obedience and being nice to her sisters. Harry made the comment after Elise's baptism stating "just wait a few years and we are going to have weddings back to back to back." Weddings, Proms, Friends, Emotions. . . wait, what are we in for?!?
Family is truly a gift from God. Our three little girls are a gift from God. We are so blessed in our lives, and I know that I totally take advantage of this at times, well yes, most of the time. We are also blessed to have family that is so good to each other. My girls really look up to everyone of their cousins.
Lexi, Dallin, Sierra, Elise and Jade - we are so proud of you for the decision you made to be baptized. The Holy Ghost is an awesome gift we have in our lives. Now that you have made this important step, the next step is a big one. . . it is the preparation for the rest of your lives. A mission, a temple marriage, a family, good friends, you have a lot of things to prepare for. Remember that your Mom and Dad are here to support you and so is Grandma and Grandpa, and Nanna and Poppa, and Aunts and Uncles. You guys need to continue to be the examples to everyone else. Especially your siblings.
Today a friend in our ward blessed their baby. She was born extremely premature only weighing 2 lbs. After months of prayers for both Carrie and Elenor, they are both doing great and she is finally in the clear to come out in public so that they could bless her. How precious life is.
From Blessings to Baptisms to Weddings. . . keep your world pure and "white". Love ya!

Mormania

So March Madness is over. . . and way to go Cougars! You did us proud. My girls wore their BYU sweatshirts to school over and over again. The morning after a good snow storm they cry out in despair when they can't see the "Y" on the mountain. And yes, they cried out this morning because we were hit with yet ANOTHER spring storm and there is snow outside. By the way Mr. Groundhog - YOU WERE WRONG!!
Anyway, I have to admit (because, yes, Jeff, you called me out), I do have a bit of a Jimmer crush. Not one of those, dreamy, googly-eyed crushes. I mean, if we are being honest here, I don't think he would make "the list". But I love his attitude. I love the smirk he makes after making those AWESOME three point long shots. He knows he is awesome. I love that his name can be used as a noun and a verb. I love that he likes to eat at the same places as we do. Actually Bre - I think he is stalking you -- Cheesecake AND P.F. Changs?!? How did he know that we would be there at those exact moments? I think it's weird that people honestly felt like we were being sacrileges and worshiping idols or something like that. If you never saw the Michelle Peralta FB post. . . here is a link http://dreamcatchermedia.com/jimmered . (Welcome back, now that you have read all 300 posts -- and admit, some of them were pretty funny).
Next item of blogging? The Honor Code. A very controversial topic. Let's pretend for a moment that there was a school, and this school had certain rules. Next, let's pretend there is a team who plays for this school. If we were to pick which sport (which in all reality the choice of sport doesn't really matter, but since we are pretending) we would pick basketball. On this basketball team, there are team members. Since it's pretend, we have no names, so we will just give him the #0. So what if #0 breaks the Honor Code? He should be dismissed. Yes, he is part of a team, but he let everyone on his team down. He knew the rules and he broke the rules. If this were to happen I would have to give props to the coaches and leaders who didn't sweep it under the rug, just because he was an athlete. But I would also be VERY disappointed if the media made such a big deal of something that was so personal. But of course, we are just pretending, so WHY would the media do such a thing like that?
And final blogging thought - Conference. Who saw the guy at the end of Sunday Session stand up and turn right into the camera and cheese it? Way to go! You got your 7 seconds of fame.
