Goblin Valley

And then there were Goblins, lots of little goblins. This weekend we took the two older girls camping to Goblin Valley. We had a blast. The girls were so excited to go to the "park", but we had to explain to them that this wasn't your normal park with swings and slides. When we arrived our first item of business was to play "Hide N Seek". The girls had fun running thru the open valley and finding any rock to hide behind. Kyle & Heather had the best hiding spot (they found a cave to hide in) but Maggie gave them away. As soon as Maggie heard our voices, she started whimpering. She is not very good at this whole Hide N Seek thing.
We also went hiking in Little Wild Horse Canyon. That was fun. It was like the slot canyons and it was beautiful. If you are any sort of claustrophobic, then this is your warning, do not go into the canyons. There were points on the hike when you couldn't even step your foot down to walk it was so tight. We had to lift the girls (and the dog) over many rocks. The day after, we definitely felt it in muscles that hadn't been used in quite some time. We were a little worried about Phil's knee, but he seemed to manage fine.
We played some horseshoes, board games and we even got a little bit of reading in.

The weather was beautiful (a little breezy, but at least there was no snow or rain). We had a great time and have talked about making this a yearly tradition.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for watching Sydney so that we could enjoy this with Sierra & Savannah. We wouldn't have been able to make the hikes nor played like we did if we had Sydney with us.
