Kids Say the Darndest Things

So last week we were invited to have Family Home Evening with the Tippetts. We were excited to play Ticket to Ride (also, they wanted to get Phil over to play Rockband - which by the way, as well as Phil sings, you would have thunk that he could do better - he sucked!). Anyway, as we arrived the girls went to play with Hannah while we helped finish the most amazing carmel popcorn. When we were ready, Floyd called the girls in for the lesson. He went in and said "time for Family Home Evening" and the sweet, polite Sierra looks at Floyd and says "No thanks, I'm not hungry". Needless to say, our girls think that Family Home Evening is when we go out for ice cream - they didn't know that it involved singing and a lesson too. I guess I need to step up in the parenting department and have more "accurate" Family Home Evenings.
We will make our attempt this weekend as we are going camping in Goblin Valley and we will watch/listen to conference. We have Activity Packets for the girls to do while we are there. Hopefully they will be able to enjoy and understand some of it.
We will miss President Hinckley. . . he traveled o'er the earth, making friends with kings and leaders of the world, dedicating temples, and waving his cane. We look forward to a new era with President Thomas S. Monson as our prophet.
